This is an acrostic poem using the alphabet. I hope you enjoy it. They can be quite fun. I was reminded of this poem as I walked by a large collection of California lilac plants. It is also called ceanothus or buckbrush and has a wonderful scent. As I stood appreciating the smell I realized I could hear a constant hum from the many bees out in the sunlight visiting the blue-purple flowers.
Since I now have time to attend to my website, I am choosing poems that at make me smile– Stay Well my friends!
Honey Lasts Forever
At last —
bees, those harbingers of
comfort and creativity. See them
delivering pollen,
exciting stamens,
flowers — fecundity on display.
Growth becomes gravid,
healthful honey sweetens our
insides with
juice of a lemon,
kettle-hot water
ladled into a cobalt blue
mug,
numinous and fragrant.
Offer it to
people you love,
quite honestly proffer
respite from
sickness, sadness, solitude.
Tell
us of future plans over tea,
vows of
wondering ideas,
extraordinary passion,
yearning for truth,
zeal overflowing.
All
beginning with
comfortable bees.
It all begins with the bee ☺️

Strange, what coronavirus has done to spring. Death looms over the beauty and promise of renewal.
