Featured Poem: March, 2020

April 4, 2020

After a rainy day like today, I was reminded of this old poem of mine. Simple pleasures make the difference during this time. Hope you are safe and well. Satsuma Quiet in the house. Just the dropping of the rain. The furnace sighs. I sit by the window, cold pouring off the single panes, legs … More Featured Poem: March, 2020

Featured Poem: January, 2020

January 18, 2020

I guess I am already thinking of spring and my hyacinths are beginning to show green above the ground (yes I planted them a bit late.) It also reminds me of snorkel diving at night in … More Featured Poem: January, 2020

I am running out of space in my house and also love reading poetry when I am at Farley’s in San Francisco or Broadway Coffee in Sacramento. I … More Inner Sunset also on Kindle

Vistas & Byways is the journal of San Francisco State OLLI program. This poem was published in the Spring, 2019 issue. It is a nightmarish dream of mine ending in a powerful image from my childhood in rural Massachusetts. Featured Poem – June, 2019

June 18, 2019

I am so excited about the publication of my book. All I can say is Hallelujah! Sing-Along Messiah Is the point to bloom? Send your sweetness out on the air. Open your petals. Call to the bees. Lean toward the sun balancing on your tiptoes. Duet with the rain. Or is the point to fruit … More Featured Poem – June, 2019
